creationism

creationism
1. (creationism) (1975↑, 459↓)
The idea that two centuries of consistent scientific data by thousands of logical minds is wrong and that Earth and life were not created by a causal chain of events but by an infinitely knowing, loving and powerful--yet seemingly indecisive and possibly bipolar--deity in less than a week. Its strongest argument is its compelling assertion that if you don't believe in it, you'll go to Hell with everyone Jerry Falwell finds personally distasteful and you'll all roast for eternity while demons gangrape you with white-hot tridents.

Jack Chick said science is just as evil as Catholics and Jews, and that's why I believe in creationism.

2. (creationism) (1226↑, 298↓)
The result of Christians' insane refusal to accept that their religious doctrines are wrong.

Creationism can only be believed by people with absolutely no understanding of science or history.

3. (creationism) (888↑, 259↓)
The belief that ALL lifeforms on earth magically appeared in, literally, a couple of days.

Did you see the movie creationism? It has the wildest FX but, geez\! Totally unrealistic story\! A waste of money if you ask me\!

4. (creationism) (720↑, 165↓)
The belief that you know more about science than an actual scientist.

I think creationism is a fact and evolution is JUST A THEORY. Kind of like how the Sears tower is JUST a little bigger than a phone booth.

5. (creationism) (664↑, 193↓)
Denial, foolishness, brainwashing, etc.

Creationism Dialogue Creationist A: Evolution is only a theory\! Creationist B: Yay\! Let's go kill some heretics\! Pat Robertson: Assassination is fun\! George W Bush: Can I say 'Crusade' again? Creationism

6. (Creationism) (536↑, 178↓)
The idea that God created everything and we were never apes clonking each other with clubs and fossils are the result of the deadly "flood" known from the story of "Noah's Ark". It's basically all B.S.

Pastor: "God created everything, face it, he is the most powerful creature on Earth. Creationism is fact." Scientist: "Have you proof of such happenings? Have you found God?" Pastor: "The Bible is enough proof." Scientist: "Anyone can write facts down and have people believe in them. Just look at how Santa came to be." Pastor: "You have a point. I have wasted countless years believing the ridiculous. I see the light now."

7. (creationism) (438↑, 181↓)
A word that refers ONLY to the specific creation myth that the world was created as per the book of Genesis, and the people who try to defend that story as the literal truth.

"Creationism is contradictory in the simple fact that it attempts to discredit science, while at the same time trying to use science to justify it's position."

8. (creationism) (305↑, 78↓)
Lies, fairytales, bullshit.

Person A: I believe in creationism. Person B: You are a retard.

9. (creationism) (218↑, 76↓)
This is a belief which was invented to explain why we are all here. Basically it states that the world was created by some greater being (God). But then who created God? The theory of Creationsim falls flat through stating the Earth is thousands of years old, despite the fact it was proved to be billions of years old through scientific research. Creationists mock the theory of evolution and condemn the teaching of evolution at school. Evolution seems like the most sensible theory to me. Ah, but then howcome there are so many gaps in the evolutionary pathway? For one thing, it is a real fluke that an animal survives in fossil form, a billion-to-one chance requiring exactly the right geological conditions. Yes, we have a lot of skeletons in museums, but they are nothing when you consider how many animals have existed over the history of time. For another thing, it has been suggested that evolution takes place in jumps rather than gradually (a new, more evolved species suddenly starts appearing, gradualy takes over the older species). As for the teaching of evolution at school, it is taught as a theory. You don't have to believe in it. On the other hand, teaching Creationism at school involves indoctrinating children. I still remember being told that "God is always watching us and can punish us if we act or think wrongly". It makes me laugh when certain Creationists complain about CCTV cameras everywhere or the government spying on us all. Beliefs like Creationism were the Big Brother and the CCTV cameras of their day, were used to control the working classes. Now George W Bush is talking about teaching Creationism in schools in the USA instead of evolution. I can't help feeling all he really wants to do is create a brainwashed army to fight a religious war against Muslims.

A certain Creationism-believing journalist equates anyone who believes in evolution with genocidal murderers, tells us how narrow-minded they are. That's funny, because the religious people I've met are some of the most narrow-minded, snobbish, hypoctrical bigots I've ever had the misfortune the come across.

10. (creationism) (177↑, 44↓)
The modern equivalent of a geocentric universe. Science proves irrefutably that causal, linear events led up to the ecosystem we see today. Since this idea just so happens to go against Christian doctrine, it is condemned by many Christians, who put forth a pseudoscience known as creationism, or intelligent design, in response. Creationism is non-scientific, as there is no way to test it using empirical data. Many creationists see perceived flaws in evolutionary theory as proof that creationism is true and provable. This is not true because 1.The so-called flaws are rooted in the misunderstanding or ignoring of the mechanics of evolution. Arguments such as "irreducible complexity" illustrate that creationists do not understand the process of evolution. Evolution is yet to be discredited in the scientific community, where it is accepted universally. 2.Disproving one theory does not make another theory any more credible. Even though theory A may have been disproved, theory B still must make its case based on sound scientific data. Creationists also believe that the world is in the order of 6,000 years old, which can easily be disproved with radiometric dating. Creationists say that this technology is inaccurate, but have no proof of this whatsoever. Creationists also use the argument "Evolution is just a theory." All that this argument does is show that they don't understand what a scientific theory is. Debunking creationism (by virtue of exposing the fallacy of the "young Earth" theory) is very easy. Any high school student has the capability to do so. Scientists do not waste their time even addressing it at this point, as there has never been so much as a single piece of evidence in support of it. Those who claim to be creation scientists are not scientists at all, as they cannot apply the scientific method to their theories.

Jill: The theory of evolution is just that -- a theory. It's yet to be proven in any way. James: Gravity is just a theory, too. You should really read a book sometime. Besides the bible. Hugh: God created the Earth 6,000 years ago with the entire ecosystem completely intact as we see it today. Al: Um, dinosaur? Hugh: Put there by the devil to deceive us. Jenny: If evolution is true, how come we've stopped evolving? Sally: Evolution takes place over long periods of time. You can't see it in your lifetime. We are still evolving. Jenny: That's just stupid. You'll believe anything they tell you. Will: Evolution is proven to be false by the gaps in the fossil record. In fact, the fossil record does more to disprove evolution than anything else. This proves creationism to be true. Ben: Where did you hear that? We know that the ancestors of all sea mammals are land mammals. We can see where homo sapien and neanderthal split off on two separate paths. You're just parroting what some wacky creationist said on TV, aren't you? Will: At least I'll spend the rest of forever in eternal bliss. You're going to hell. What good will your evolution do you then? Ben: :P Billy: So, now that I have proven that your crackpot evolution theory is wrong, you must accept my theory as true. My theory is that a giant potato-beast named pot-thak-to dreamed the universe one night 50 years ago and it came to be. Alice: Good point. Which way to his temple?

11. (creationism) (161↑, 31↓)
1. The idea that all the Ph.D. scientists on the planet, who actually spent 10-30 years of their lives getting an education in science and making real discoveries, are intellectually inferior and biased in comparison to 14- to 18-year-old impressionable christian youths and sexually frustrated right-wingers who barely graduated from high school who easily fall for hoaxes which are assumed to be "evidence" for bible literalism and against the rest of science. 2. A conspiracy theory which suggests that all the scientists on the planet are corroborating on a scheme to turn the public away from their belief in God via the theory of evolution (not only atheist scientists, but Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Hindu scientists are in on this anti-God scheme; go figure). Of course, like all conspiracy theories, you will be accused of being naive by the paranoid masses if you happen to use your brain and actually think about how it's not only impossible for thousands of people to be in on a lie without a single one of them having the scruples to come forward and expose said lie, but also impossible for snakes to talk.

1. Creationist: "Did you know Darwin recanted evolution on his deathbed? That proves evolution is wrong and creationism is true\!" Someone who doesn't have his head up his own ass: "That claim was refuted over 100 years ago. And you wonder why scientists don't take you morons seriously?" 2. Creationist: "What? You mean you DON'T believe in fire-breathing dragons and a global flood which has no evidence? You mean you actually believe what scientists say about science and not my pastor? What's wrong with you? Well don't worry, I'll pray for you."

12. (Creationism) (139↑, 52↓)
[Creationism] explained: [God] + Adam + Eve -times- Cane -minus- Abel + Seth -divided by- [Lilith] -times- Eve's sister-in-law -divided by- dinosaurs -times- 42 -times- [E=mc2] -divided by- Infinity + H2O -times- [Monosodiumglutinate] -minus- The [Monolith] + hot air + the sound of a honking horn + The Secret Ingredient -minus- your opposable thumb = ALL THAT IS AND EVER SHALL BE\! AMEN\! I hope that clears things up for you.

According to the Religious Right, "evolution" was just Darwin trying to explain his wife to his friends and the idea caught on\! "Creationism" is, of course, the ONE TRUE and ONLY explanation for human existance. Anybody who says otherwise should have their opposable thumbs chopped off\!

13. (creationism) (91↑, 28↓)
The belief that the Christian [God] created the Earth and everything in it. There are two stories (chapters one and two of Genesis in the Bible.) Recently, this has been a hot topic for debating whether if it should be taught in schools. Most creationists merge the first half of chapter one, and the second half of chapter two to create what they think should be taught in schools, but really, they should just pick one story and stick with it.

(creationist) Evolution is the work of the devil. Creationism should be taught in schools\! (non-ignorant person) Oh really? Which version? (creationist) What do you mean which version? The one in the bilbe mother fucking Satanist cock sucking piece of shit. (non-ignorant perso) Chapters one and two are two TOTALLY different versions. (creationist) Uhmm... Gay marriage is the devil\! (non-ignorant person) ...

14. (creationism) (67↑, 13↓)
One of three possible ideas 1. Old Earth creationism - the belief that the origins of earth are divine in nature, yet do not contradict with any scientific findings. 2. Young Earth creationism - the belief that the word of the Bible, or any similar holy book, is literal and that the world was created in about six thousand years. This belief basically says that any testable data showing that the world is older than six thousand years is wrong. Frequently deals with faith more than science, and when science is invoked, it is typically misused or misinterpreted. 3. [intelligent design]

1. If one were to suppose that, to God, a day is more than twenty-four hours (which is possible because the sun was not created until the fourth day), then one could say that the Bible does not contradict scientific findings. 2. When a fake plaster cast of a human footprint next to a dinosaur's was used jokingly as a cover for a book by the late Stephen J. Gould, a staunch pro-evolutionist, creationists lauded the use as proof that scientists believe in creationism, and that humans and dinosaurs coexisted, whereas in reality, almost no paleobiologists believe so.

15. (creationism) (60↑, 14↓)
1a. A minority Christian doctrine that rejects science, promotes stupidity, bullshit, and will do anything irrational. 1b. It is a hypocritical sect that claims to not believe in magic, but instead they promote their own form of magic. 1c. Basically, it's the same thing as Holocaust denial, that is, they both promote something irrational, childish, and unsubstantiated over something supported by incredible amounts of evidence and years of hard work, and both degrade a group of people (creationism degrades scientists; Holocaust denial degrades Jews).

Creationism is an excuse for being stupid.

16. (creationism) (124↑, 158↓)
That God created everything on the Earth (even all the tiny cyanobacteria, eubacteria etc that's never mentioned in the bible...) in a week. As a scientist, I don't buy it....however, who's to say that the idea of creationism and [evolution] have to be mutually exclusive. Even today, in spite of centuries of scientific advances, no one has been able to directly prove exactly HOW the cyanobacteria and methanogens set up camp on Earth...there are theories, sure...but what if, just for argumentation's sake, one were to assume that God just set up the perfect environment for all the organisms to thrive...but didn't actually create the organisms themselves? I don't personally believe in God, but those of you christians who happen to be scientists and get offended during evolution 101 might wanna think of it this way before you storm out of lecture. Just a thought..

According to the Bible, God made everything on this planet in 6 days and had the 7th day to rest and reflect on his work. This idea is creationism.

17. (Creationism) (11↑, 59↓)
The belief that things 20 million times smaller than Quantom Physics control the universe something that if is manipulated by they Humans we would be able to change anything: Where planets are or if there are any, who died who lived or if anyone ever died. If a divine figure lived in the Universe or if not, the smallest thing in science. The very pinnacle of science. Most creationists join others to stop science all together because they think reaching the substance will completly obliterate humans, alians, gods everything. Year of first Creationist:Unknown Origin:Unknown

I heard he got arrested, what for? A plot to kill a local scientist hes was apart of something called Creationism.

18. (creationism) (94↑, 146↓)
Broadly, a belief that the universe and life have divine origins, rather than resulting from chance. Most often it refers specifically to the creation story of the judeo-christian tradition outlined in the book of Genesis, but the term can also apply to ideas from other religions (Hindu, Islam, various pagan and animist religions, etc)

"The origin of the univers often results in heated debate between creationists and scientists."

19. (Creationism) (49↑, 108↓)
The idea that the world was created by intelligent design.

All devout Christians believe that Creationism is true

Copyright notice is unnecessary, but it eliminates a potential defense of a copier. Creationism has long been the subject of scientific theory, but more-so as a target than a constant. In the following I will present a collection of scientifically accepted theories and laws that together suggest that creationism is fact, and will debunk ideas such as the Big Bang. The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that the amount of usable energy in the Universe is decreasing. This is because heat cannot flow spontaneously from a material at a lower temperature to a material at a higher temperature. The inverse of this states that heat can flow spontaneously from a material at a higher temperature to a material at a lower temperature. This basically means that the Universe has surpassed the equilibrium of time, and has passed it's mark of half-life. This means that the Universe's life span is now in decline. For it to be in decline, it would have had to have been increasing at some point. This point, according to this theory, was the beginning of time. The proof that the Universe had a beginning is enough to debunk all theories aside from the Big Bang Theory and Creationism. To understand my following presentation, you must know that the cosmologists accept the term Big Bang, which generally refers to the idea that the universe has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition at some finite time in the past (currently estimated to have been approximately 13.7 billion years ago), and continues to expand to this day. This theory was proposed by Georges Lemaître, and was based on Albert Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, along with assumptions based on homogeneity and isotropy. In 1916, when Einstein presented his General Theory of Relativity, his goal was to explain gravitation in modern physics, unifying special relativity and Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation. He came up with this formula explaining this theory: 2(distance) x 2(density) / (density)(distance)(time)^2 = (-8(pressure)(constant of gravity) / 3 ) x (density) + 3(pressure) / (speed of light)^2 This equation, along with his stated information, was missing one very necessary thing, the existence of a creator or creators. In fact, the theory called for it. He had unintentionally stated that a creator or creators of our universe do exist. This alone debunks the Big Bang Theory, in the sense that it's theoretically devised from this theory, but states something completely different by assumptions. He spent several years modifying and revising this equation in an attempt to eliminate the need for a creator, and present a theory that the Universe was static, meaning it had no creator. He eventually presented a revised version he described as a 'fudge factor.' This was immediately debunked by scientist because it reflected his opinion, instead of a scientific explanation. He refereed to this as his biggest mistake. Because this was immediately debunked because of it's opinionated content, the Big Bang Theory can't be accepted due to it's large base of assumptions. In 1919, Aurthur Eddington conducted an experiment during a solar eclipse which proved that Einstein's originally General Theory of Relativity was true. He immediately stated, and it was scientifically accepted, that the Universe was not static, but had a beginning. Using this, he proposed an idea of a Universal Mind, or God. He concluded it was fairly plausible, according to the present state of theory. In 1929, Edwin Hubble discovered that the Universe was expanding at the same rate in all directions. He did this by observing the shade of stars over time, later known as the Doppler Effect. With this, he proposed that the Universe is getting less dense over time, meaning that the farther one ventured into the past, the more dense the Universe would be, up until the singular, most dense point, referred to as the beginning of time. Because this point was considered infinitely dense, according to scientific law, it did not exist. This is because a point can only be dense to a finite point. This means that the Universe was created from a non-existent point. Because the Universe is becoming less dense over time, it could not be explained why the pressure of the Universe stays constant, but something had to exist, and interfere. If there was nothing controlling the pressure, over time things would expand due to relief of Universal pressure. In 1992, NASA launched it's most sensitive satellite into space. The Cosmic Background Explorer, or COBE, was sent up to measure the temperature over time in the Universe. Within eight minutes of it's launch, it detected that their were layers of heat throughout the universe. This reflects back on the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states that heat cannot flow spontaneously from a material at a lower temperature to a material at a higher temperature. These layers were described as the thread of God. These perfect layers control the energy and pressure in the Universe. Along with this discovery came the missing support for all of these theories. Alone, these theories suggest the creation of the Universe, along with the existance of a creator or creators. These theories not only validate religion, but also validate ideas of the Universal Mind. Now, which creator was the creator of our Universe. The study of religion along with the study of these theories suggest that Christianity, Judaism, and Mormonism refer to the actual creator that created our Universe. This is a sole factor the Old Testament of the Bible. The difference between this testament, and the other documents of other religions is it's scientific relation to the creation of the Universe. World religions usually refer to cast systems, suggesting infinite cycles. Their religious documentation refer to cycles, starting with one event, leading to other events, which eventually cycle back to the first event. The Old Testament is different in that it specifically refers to a beginning of time, stating that time is finite, meaning that someday time will cease, making it the only religious document acceptable to scientific theory.

Scientist 1: Creationism? I suggest we base our studies off the big bang theory. Scientist 2: Don't you know anything? You're no scientist at all. From the second law of thermodynamics, to Einstein's general relativity, to Nasa's COBE in 1992, how can you base anything on the big bang? Scientist 1 shoots himself.

21. (Creationism) (58↑, 170↓)
Creationism is where humans where created by Aliens ( eg gods, god, the Elohim its all the same to me)in which we are their experiment that has gone wrong many times.

And god said let us create men in our Image we are from our sky father and Are descendents of the sky people

22. (Creationism) (21↑, 203↓)
Supported by the concept of intelligent design, the belief that the Earth and all life upon it were created by God. Explains everything that so called scientific method cannot, questions such as why, if Evolution is true The Bible makes no mention of it. "Science" can't explain this, can it? The Bible is supported with the proof of the Teleologial argument, which, briefly, states that life on this planet is of such a complex nature that random genetic mutation could never produce functioning biological organisms without The Holy Father's divine intervention. The best explanation therefore is clearly that The Universe was created --as it appears today-- thousands of years ago by a divine being, as described in Genesis. If you need further proof of this, simply read the book of Genesis.

Scientist: I do not believe in Creationism, which means that I ignore any proof placed right in front of me, and instead choose to perpetuate my blasphemous ways. Creationist: I happen to accept the proof of The Bible because I have faith in things that science will never understand.
